Foster City is set to sign a Sister City agreement with Inagi City, Japan, marking a historic and unique cultural milestone. The agreement will be formalized during a signing ceremony on Monday, July 26, and community members are invited watch the event in-person from the Council Chambers or remotely during a live online broadcast.
On Saturday, July 31 at 1 p.m., the San Mateo County History Museum the Courthouse Docket educational series continues as Richard Hopper presents, “Construction of Foster City 1960 – 1980”. As the former Foster City Director of Public Works and City Engineer, Hopper will give a presentation that focuses on the construction of the city and the unique features that make up the character of the city.
Heal the Bay released its “Beach Bummers” list Tuesday, June 29, and three of the state’s top ten polluted beaches identified are in Foster City (Erckenbrack Park - No. 2, Gull Park - No. 4, and Marlin Park - No. 8) and part of our City’s enclosed lagoon network. Each year, Heal the Bay distributes an annual water quality report card grading 500 California beaches “A” through “F.” This was similar to the list published by Heal the Bay last year, when some Foster City beaches also made the list.
You can stop by and enjoy eclectic cuisine from several truck vendors every Wednesday from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. Many favorite trucks will be making a return, alongside new vendors offering a range of different, delicious options.
