Face Coverings Required Indoors When Visiting Foster City Facilities

In alignment with the recommendation of federal and regional health officials, the City of Foster City is requiring everyone to wear face coverings indoors when visiting City facilities. The masking requirement will go into effect Thursday, July 29, at City facilities and comes in the immediate wake of an announcement from the CDC urging vaccinated people to wear face coverings indoors to protect against the Delta variant.

As case rates rise locally, health officers throughout the Bay Area have recommended everyone wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status.

Health and Safety Restrictions Loosened for Anniversary Concert Series

In response to community feedback and alignment with State and County guidance, most recently after the Governor lifted his previous pandemic executive orders, Foster City will be loosening previously planned health and safety measures that were put in place to enforce social distancing and crowd size during the upcoming Anniversary Concert Series. As a result, fencing, temporarily installed around the meadow at Leo Ryan Park as a precautionary crowd control measure, will be taken down.
