Street Lights and Traffic Signals

Street Lights at Night

The Engineering division of the Foster City Public Works Department is responsible for the design and maintenance of more than 2,000 street lights and 31 signalized intersections in Foster City.

If you observe a street light outage or a problem with the traffic signals, please contact Public Works Engineering on weekdays between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. If calling after hours, you will receive a pre-recorded message with general instructions and emergency information. You should provide your name, address, telephone number, location of requested repair, pole number (for street lights), and as much detailed information of the problem as possible. Alternatively, you can report the issue via our Foster City Access app.

The non-emergency police department non-emergency number may be used for immediate action: (650) 286-3345.
