Engineering and Construction

The Engineering division provides the engineering and administrative services to maintain, operate, repair, and where necessary, improve City/District public facilities. Some examples of the Engineering Division's responsibilities include maintaining the 2,055 street lights and 31 signalized intersections, managing the traffic and transportation planning for the city, and administering a majority of the City/District's Construction Capital Improvement Programs. This division also monitors the use of the public rights-of-way in the City/District, ensures that developments conform to City/District codes, and maintains the City/District mapping system.

Common questions from the public include questions related to work in the public right of way (e.g., underground utility work, water lines, sewer lines, etc.), waste management plans, PCB forms, C3/C6 checklists, encroachment permits required as part of a building permit, etc.
