Benjamin Stock and Denise Bazzano Selected as City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney of Foster City

The City of Foster City is pleased to announce that Benjamin Stock and Denise Bazzano of Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP, have been selected as the new City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney, respectively. The City Council approved an agreement for their services at its regularly scheduled City Council meeting of Monday, August 2, at 6:30 p.m.

Mr. Stock is an accomplished litigator in both state and federal courts. He currently serves as the City Attorney for the City of Benicia and Town Attorney for the towns of Tiburon and Ross. He is also the General Counsel for Eastern Contra Costa Transit Authority, Sanitary District Number 5, Sausalito-Marin City Sanitary District, and the Vallejo Flood and Wastewater District. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B. A. in Environmental Science and received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Mr. Stock has extensive experience in eminent domain and representing public entities in litigation and specializes in inverse condemnation and land use, CEQA, breach of contract, environmental law, and dangerous conditions public liability. He also assists numerous public entities across the state on complex land use matters and in tax allocation matters.

Denise Bazzano currently serves as Assistant City Attorney for the cities of Calistoga and Pacifica and the Assistant Town Attorney for the Town of Moraga. She graduated from St. Mary’s College of California with a B.S. in Business Administration and received her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law.

Ms. Bazzano regularly advises city councils, planning commissions, boards, and staff on a wide range of both transactional and litigated matters including issues relating to land use, public bidding, real property transactions, code enforcement, cannabis regulation, animal control, and purchasing.
