Our Community

Foster City is located 25 miles south of San Francisco on the San Francisco Peninsula. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 30,567. Forbes ranked Foster City #10 on their 2009 list of America's Top 25 Towns to Live Well. Foster City is close proximity to Silicon Valley.

What is striking about our 40+ year history is the innovation that it took to develop this community into what it has become today. The innovation to create our lagoon system, a landmark recreational amenity of this community – which also serves an important purpose as part of our stormdrain system. The innovation to create neighborhoods and their various shopping centers to serve those that lived in them. The innovation to allow developers to create their own "micro-communities" in the form of homeowners associations to provide their residents with unique qualities they enjoy when they return from a day working in the midst of a thriving San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley economy. The innovation to allow for the development of world-class office space to house some of the best and most innovative companies in the region and the world.

Foster City has a lot to offer those that wish to set up their business here, enjoy our shops and recreational amenities, or that wish to call Foster City "Home".
