Citywide Policies
As part of the ongoing implementation of the City’s current Housing Element, the City Council have approved the implementation of the Single-Family and Two-Family Objective Design and Development Standards (ODDS) on December 15, 2025. With this approval, many Municipal Code Chapters and citywide policies for single-family exterior modifications have been replaced, rescinded, and/or repealed to streamline processes for residents and ensure objective standards of review for new projects.
If you have submitted your Planning project applications on or prior to the February 19, 2026, previous chapters of the code and citywide policies will still apply to your project. Please check in with your assigned project planner and manager for additional questions.
Planning project applications submitted after February 19, 2026 shall be subject to the new Municipal Code ODDS chapter of 17.15 and all its update.
