Waitlists for BMR Units

The following apartment complexes have affordable units available for rent. However, waitlists for all properties are currently closed. When a waitlist opens, the application link will be available on this page. Interested parties should contact these complexes directly for availability and information on the units.  Please note that Foster City BMR units are subject to preferences. Preferences for each property are available from the Housing Coordinator. 

1.  Marlin Cove – 1060 Foster City Boulevard, Foster City, CA 94404
Marlin Cove has 84 affordable 1-2 bedroom units available for very-low and moderate income people as well as 196 market rate units. These units are available for families, individuals and senior citizens. Applications and information are available from the Marlin Cove Leasing Office at 650-349-3200.

2.  Miramar – 1288 E. Hillsdale Boulevard, Foster City, CA 94404
Miramar has 48 affordable one and two bedroom units for very-low and moderate income people as well as 111 market rate units. These units are available for families, individuals and senior citizens. For more information, please contact Miramar Apartments at 855-534-5077.

3. The Plaza – One Plaza View Lane, Foster City, CA 94404
The Plaza has 307 apartment units, including 60 below market rate (BMR) units. The BMR units include 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms for very low, low, and moderate income households. 

 

4. The Triton - 55 Triton Park Lane, Foster City, CA 94404
The Triton has 48 affordable studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units for very low-, low- and moderate-income households as well as 172 market rate apartment units. 

5. One Hundred Grand  – 100 Grand Lane, Foster City, CA 94404 
One Hundred Grand has 33 affordable one-,two-, and three-bedroom units for very low-, low- and moderate-income households as well as 133 market rate units. 

6. Alma Point at Foster Square – Affordable Senior Apartments - 700 Foster City Boulevard, Foster City, CA 94404
MidPen Housing Corp. has 65 affordable apartments. They are restricted to persons 62 years and older and very low income households (50% of area median income).  

7. City-Owned Rental Homes
The City of Foster City owns six 2-, 3- and 5- bedroom units at various locations in the City. These units are restricted to very-low and low-income households. The units are managed by HIP Housing. 

8. Metro Center Senior Homes – 100 Village Lane, Foster City, CA 94404
The Metro Center Senior Homes, owned by BRIDGE Housing, has 60 affordable one and two bedroom units for very-low and low income people. These units are available for senior citizens (age 62 and older) only.  Call (650) 349-9959 for more information.

9. Workforce Housing - 501 Pilgrim Drive

The City of Foster City purchased 22 Workforce Housing Units of the Pilgrim Triton Master Plan in 2022.  The Workforce Housing Program is designed to address the needs of first responders, public employees, and teachers to make it possible for public servants to live near where they work. Fourteen of the 22 units are below market rate for very low, low and moderate income households. The eight other units are workforce housing and have rent restrictions but no maximum income limits. The 22 Workforce Apartment units include: nine one-bedroom units, four one-bedroom plus den units, and nine two-bedroom units. The property is managed by HIP Housing Affordable Ventures.
