Apply for an Architectural Review Permit
Exterior modifications/improvements on residential and commercial properties require Architectural Review and/or Planning approval.
The following will be required for the Architectural Review submission along with a deposit (based on time and materials):
- General Planning Application
- Building Permit Acknowledgement Form
- HOA approval letter (if applicable)
- Please submit the Neighbor Notification Report with your submission. The Neighbor Notification Form along with a set of plans should be given to the neighboring properties (rear, left and right side property neighbors)
- Review FC Municipal Code Chapter 17.50 Accessory Building and Uses and Chapter 17.54 Yards
- Review the Architectural and Solar Guidelines
Once you've gathered all the necessary documents, you may submit electronically using eTRAKiT online portal.
After you've created a user name and password you will apply under Planning Projects (Not Building Permits):
The Project Type will be Architectural Review and the Project Subtype will be based on your project scope (we have selected Accessory Structure as an example below):
Once the submission has been received and assigned to a Planner, the Planner will contact you to pay the deposit. You can either pay online at eTRAKiT or you can mail or drop off a check to City Hall at 610 Foster City Blvd. (please note on the check the project address and project number).
