The City of Foster City is working closely with the County of San Mateo, as well as neighboring jurisdictions, to monitor and respond to the evolving novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and its potential impacts. Get tested for COVID-19

COVID-19 testing is free and available without restriction to anyone in San Mateo County. Reach out to your private care provider to make an appointment, or visit the County of San Mateo for more information. Vaccination is available everywhere in San Mateo County. Go to MyTurn or walk or drive to one of the 60 pharmacies offering shots.

City Hall Services & Facilities 

All Foster City facilities are open to the public, but health and safety guidelines are being observed.

Public Meetings

All public meetings are being held in a hybrid format, with in-person attendance allowed and masks encouraged indoors. Members of the public may also join the meetings via teleconference/video conference. Information on joining a specific meeting is available on that meeting's agenda here and on the City's calendar. Meetings can also be streamed live online at www.fostercity.org/fctv or on FCTV on Comcast Channel 27 and AT&T Channel 99, and are available for playback here. Events and Programs

Parks & Recreation Services, Amenities, and Facilities

The City will continue to evaluate new public health information as necessary, but facilities are again open for public use.

Virtual Recreation and Resource Center & More

Senior Services

  • Senior Meals: Second Harvest will be distributing pick-up, pre-boxed groceries for seniors in the Recreation Center parking lot on the first and third Fridays of the month starting at 9:00a.m. Learn how to register for the Brown Bag Program here.
  • Great Plates Delivered Program: Residents who are 65 and older, and adults 60-64 who are at high-risk from COVID-19 can receive three nutritious meals per day delivered to their home from restaurants and other food providers across San Mateo County. Call 1-800-675-8437 to apply.
  • Meals on Wheels: Every week, Peninsula Volunteers delivers over 3,000 hot, nutritious meals to primarily homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in San Mateo County who are unable to cook and shop for themselves.

Fire Services

The San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department (SMC Fire) will continue to provide emergency services. Fire Administration can be reached at (650) 522-7900 or fire@smcfire.org.​

Police Services

The Police Department will continue to operate at full capacity to serve the City. All walk-up needs will be assessed on a case-by-case basis via the Dispatch Window in the lobby of the Police Department building. The Police Department 24/7 non-emergency line will continue to available at (650) 286-3300. For emergencies, please dial 9-1-1.​

  • Price Gouging: Under Penal Code Section 396, price gouging is illegal in all California communities during the declared state of emergency.
