We, the members of the Foster City Police Department, are dedicated to providing a professional
level of public service, ensuring personal safety and the protection of property, with the continuous
goal of enhancing the quality of life in our community.

Class #1 – Overview of the Foster City Police Department

We will discuss the organizational chart of the Foster City Police Department, the specialty positions that help keep the community safe, the selection/hiring process and the different training each officer must complete to become a “solo beat” officer.  We will also look at the ongoing training officers must complete to stay current with POST standards and how we recruit/retain officers in todays competitive environment.

Introduction and Overview of the Academy

Animal Issues:

• San Mateo Animal Control
  -Foster City and SM County contracts with the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCS (PHS), a private non-profit organization, to enforce all animal control laws, shelter homeless animals and provide a variety of other services. ​

Neighbor Disputes

1.  If you would you like to:

• Report a Crime issue
• Report a Traffic issue
• Report a General issue

2.  Call us:

      9-1-1 if an Emergency
      (650) 286-3300   - Non Emergency 

OR

Reports can be filed at the Front Counter of the FCPD 24 hrs a day / 7 days a week.
