The second half of the meeting will focus on housing initiatives that the City must tackle in 2021.
On January 4, 2021, a City Council public hearing was held to introduce and pass to second reading text amendments to Municipal Code Chapter 17.36 to allow for greater flexibility in required parking capacity tailored to individual proposed projects, subject to site-specific parking impact studies, which may be supplemented by Transportation Systems Management (TSM) Plans/Transportation Demand Management (TDM) programs.
On October 15, 2020, a Planning Commission public hearing was held to review and consider proposed text amendments to Foster City Municipal Code Chapter 17.36, PD Planned Development Combining District, Section 17.36.060, Off-Street Parking Requirements in a PD District, to allow greater flexibility in parking requirements beyond what the Municipal Code currently allows.
