While serving the City of Coronado as its Police Chief, Jon was recognized by Learning for Life with its highest honor, the Spurgeon Award, for his commitment to the Exploring program.  He also served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Learning for Life for San Diego and Imperial Counties.  Jon was recognized by multiple Coronado Police employees for his commitment and the amount of progress he was able to accomplish during his tenure.

Jon has been known for his collaborative and engaging approach with the Foster City and Coronado communities.  He worked with the Boy Scouts, school districts, United States Navy, allied agencies at all levels of government, community organizations, and leveraged these relationships to address community needs and shared interests.
