Parks and Recreation Committee
The City of Foster City is currently accepting applications for four, full, three-year terms on the Parks and Recreation Committee. Applicants are encouraged to sign up for a Netfile account and apply at https://netfile.com/bac/public/#/FOS/.
Those interested in applying should review the City’s committee attendance policy, which prohibits committee members from missing three consecutive meetings or five meetings per 12-month period. Additionally, those ultimately selected to join a committee will be expected to complete mandatory ethics training within 30 days of their appointment.
Community members are invited to submit applications by 5 p.m. on October 23, 2025. Applicants are required to attend the November 17, 2025, City Council meeting for an interview and consideration of official appointment. If an applicant can not submit using Netfile, applications can be submitted in person at City Hall, 610 Foster City Blvd., or via email to clerk@fostercity.org. Please note that incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Mission Statement:
The Parks and Recreation Committee of the City of Foster City serves in an advisory capacity at the pleasure of the City Council. The Parks and Recreation Committee shall support the spirit of the City Council priorities and Parks and Recreation goals and objectives in order to provide for a parks and recreation program that is responsive to the interests of Foster City citizens and strives for comprehensive community engagement.
Membership:
The committee consists of seven (7) members appointed by the City Council to terms of three years each. Members serve without compensation.
Qualifications for All City/District Committees:
All persons interested in serving on any committee shall submit to the City Clerk/District Secretary, a written request for appointment containing such information on their background and qualifications as they deem appropriate. Members of all committees shall be residents of the City of Foster City/Estero Municipal Improvement District.
Meeting Date and Time:
The Committee meets regularly once a month, currently on the first Tuesday of each month, at 6:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers Conference Room, 620 Foster City Blvd.
