Operation Identification

Operation Identification is a program to encourage Foster City residents and businesses to engrave valuable property with a California Driver's License (or an assigned number in the case of businesses) to help deter thieves from taking these items. If your marked items are stolen or lost, the engraving of these numbers will permit a ready means by which to trace the property back to the rightful owner once it has been recovered.

Ride Along Program

Have you ever wondered what goes on during a typical day as a Foster City Police Officer? Now you can find out for yourself by riding along with an officer for a few hours. The Foster City Police Department offers a ride along program that allows citizens to ride with a police officer twice during a one year period.

If you are interested in the ride along program:

You must fill out the application below and return it to the police station. If you are under 18 you must have the consent of a parent or guardian who must sign and complete the application form.

Emergency Services Volunteer

What is the job of an Emergency Services Volunteer?

It is being there when you're needed, using your skills, experience and training to assist the Department in a variety of assignments and projects that are of importance to the agency and the community. In the face of growing demands for service, the assistance our citizen volunteers provide has become a vital component in the ability of the Foster City Police Department to continue to meet the needs of the community. It is also a personally rewarding and valuable experience for the participants.

Conflict Mediation and Resolution

The  Foster City Police Department provides referrals to the Peninsula Conflict  Resolution Center (PCRC) for the purpose of mediating neighborhood and family conflicts that do not rise to the level of criminal activity.

Obtain a Copy of a Police Report

Police report summaries are available to authorized parties in person at the Police Department, or by mail. Reports are not available by fax.
