Learn More About Foster City’s Single- and Two-Family Objective Development Design Standards

Community members are encouraged to learn more about the effort to update Foster City’s Single- and Two-Family Objective Design and Development Standards (ODDS). This initiative aims to modernize the City’s design guidelines, policies, and zoning code regulations into one comprehensive document, while also streamlining the permitting process for homeowners. The updated design standards will establish clear and consistent expectations for high-quality design, benefiting architects, homeowners, and the City’s decision-makers.
To help residents learn more about this effort, Foster City has planned the following community engagement opportunities:

Webinars: The City is offering virtual discussions about this issue on the following dates:
- Friday, October 3, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 7, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Open house events: City staff will be available to discuss this issue in-person at two upcoming events, which will be held in the Council Chambers at 620 Foster City Blvd on the following dates:
- Monday, October 13, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Pop up events: Staff will attend the following Off the Grid events in Leo Ryan Park to discuss the issue with those interested on the following dates:
- Wednesday, October 1, at 5 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 8, at 5 p.m.
