The United States Post Office (USPS) has submitted plans to renovate their new home to be located at 750 Alma Lane in Foster City. According to the USPS construction timeline, they anticipate starting construction this week and should take approximately two (2) months to complete the renovation.

The USPS temporarily closed the post office on January 31, 2018 due to the upcoming construction of a new elementary school on the Charter Square Shopping Center site. City Staff and the Office of Congresswoman Jackie Speier worked with USPS officials over the course of several months to help finalize the lease agreement of the permanent post office. “We are extremely happy that the Post Office will be reopening its doors,” said Foster City Assistant City Manager, Dante Hall. “Postal services are extremely important to our community and the Charter Square Post Office has enjoyed the loyal patronage of local residents for many years. We are also grateful to our residents for their patience over the past several months.”

The new full-service office will be approximately 3,800 square feet with ample counter space and room for post office boxes.
