Street Rehabilitation (CIP 301-689)

The Street Rehabilitation Project FY 19/20 is part of the City’s ongoing maintenance of its public streets. The street selected for this year’s street rehabilitation is Vintage Park Drive from Chess Drive to Foster City Boulevard. The street project will be separated into two segments based on the varying scope of the work. The southern portion of Vintage Park Drive from Chess Drive to Lakeside Drive will involve full width grinding, full depth pavement repairs, an asphalt overlay, concrete curb and gutter replacement, pavement markings, and minor grade adjustments of various existing utility structure lids. The northern portion of Vintage Park Drive from Lakeside Drive to Foster City Boulevard will involve a full reconstruction of the roadway pavement section, pavement markings, re-establishment of monuments, and minor adjustments of various existing utility structure lids. The upgrading of the existing non-compliant curb ramps, in conformance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), are also included both sections.

In addition, various City streets within Neighborhood 2 and 3 will receive a slurry seal treatment. The streets to receive treatment are as follows:

• Crane Ave (from Gull Ave to Stilt Ct)
• Killdeer Ct
• Mallard St
• Surfbird Isle
• Marlin Ave
• Tarpon St
• Swordfish St
• Pompano Cir
• Dolphin Isle

The City of Foster City is inviting bids for the Street Rehabilitation Project FY 19/20 starting April 15, 2020. The Engineer’s Estimate for the base bid portion of the project is $2,870,000. In light of the State of Emergency related to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), electronic submittal of Bids is required. The City will allow electronic submittal of Bids until 2:00 pm on Thursday, May, 28, 2020. Hard copies must follow and must be post marked on or before May 28, 2020.  Bids that are not submitted timely in both electronic and hard copy forms will not be considered.
