CIP 301-708 - Renovate Elevators in City Buildings

The City is conducting a citywide program aimed at renovating City elevators. The City elevators located in City Hall, Corporation Yard, Fire Station, and Library Community Center Annex are due for modernization that are meant to improve their performance, safety, reliability, and energy efficiency while also enhancing the overall user experience.

Due to the closure and demolition of the Recreation Center, programming was temporarily relocated to several facilities, including the Library Community Center Annex. Because of this, the Library Community Center Annex elevator experienced higher-than-normal usage leading to accelerated deterioration, frequent repairs and was temporarily taken out of service for repairs. The repairs were completed in Winter 2025 and is available for public use.

Assessment and Preliminary Design for the modernization of all four elevators is anticipated to begin in March 2026.
