RUBBER DUCKY RACE OFFICIAL RULES
- Rubber Ducky Race is for fun! This is a novice race for families and people of all ages.
- Heats begin at 9:00am, 9:30am and 10:00am (Family heat will be at 9:00am and Adult heats will run at 9:30am and 10:00am.)
- Participants must use inflatable item as your water vessel (inner tubes, inflatable rafts, pool floats, air mattresses, or any other creative inflatable item).
- Participants must be at least 5 years old to participate. Participants 15 years old or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Participants 16 or 17 years old must have a signed parent permission slip (slip can be found on registration button on main page).
- Coast Guard approved life preservers must be worn at all times. For a list of places to purchase life preservers, please see the button at the bottom of the Rubber Ducky Race homepage.
- Paddles may be used, but are not required.
- Adult races raft entries have no minimum amount of people per raft, but may not have more than 8 people per raft.
- Family races have a minimum of 2 people, one of which must be 15 years old or younger. If you do not have a member of your family that is 15 years old or younger, you must enter the adult race.
- All rafts must be solely human powered or by home-made sail (motors/engines will not be allowed)
- No animals allowed on any rafts
- All entries must display their competition number in plain sight and clearly visible at the finish line
- All members of your raft must finish the race on or in your water vessel to be eligible to win
- No water balloons allowed or water blasters/cannons or water guns where the source of water is from the lagoon.
- Winner of each heat will be determined once entire vessel has passed the finish line.
- Test your inflatable water vessel prior to the day of the race.
- Be creative! Anything that can be inflated, can be used as a raft!
- Please be respectful of other racers (No intentional bumping into other rafts).
- All participants must stay in or on your water vessel for the duration of the race.
