Foster City is proud to bring you cultural arts programs.  Please find information below on our cultural arts programs, events, contests, and groups available to the community.

Foster City Art Gallery

Each year six to ten local artists are selected to display their work in the Foster City Art Gallery, located in the Recreation Center lobby at 650 Shell Blvd.  Gallery hours are 8am-10pm Monday through Thursday and 8am-12pm Friday and Saturday.

Diwali- Festival of Lights

Hillbarn Theatre

The Foster City Parks and Recreation Department partners with Hillbarn Theatre to bring dramatic arts to the community.   Hillbarn Theatre is the 6th oldest continuously operating amateur theater company in the nation and is the oldest company in San Mateo County.  Hillbarn presents six performances each season, in addition to offering a Children's Conservancy program.  For more information, visit www.hillbarntheatre.org.

Peninsula Musical Arts Association

PMAA is a charitable corporation, member-run and independent of any educational or religious institution.  It sponsors the Foster City Community Chorus and Heart & Soul.  In addition to their concerts each spring and winter, these groups perform at civic and corporate events.  Visit www.facebook.com/PMAAChorus/ for more information and upcoming concert dates.

Foster City Community Chorus

The Foster City Community Chorus is a mixed 80 voice adult chorus beginning its 38th season singing music from Baroque to Broadway.  Internationally renowned musician and vocal coach Paul Hurst includes music theory and fundamental techniques in weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays from 7 to 9:30pm. Residents of all cities with an ability to match a pitch are welcome.

Heart & Soul

An 18-voice performance-oriented chorale for experienced singers by audition.  The repertoire includes a broad range of periods and styles.  Monday rehearsals are 7 to 9:45pm, at Audubon School, 841 Gull Avenue, in preparation for concerts and other civic and corporate performances.  Arrange required audition in advance through www.facebook.com/PMAAChorus/.

Viva la Musica

Viva la Musica is a secular, mixed-voice avocational adult choir and orchestra led by Shulamit Hoffmann, artistic director.  They perform classical and multi-cultural choral and choral-orchestral repertoire, inspiring and educating performers and audiences with passionate and energetic concerts featuring noteworthy music from diverse cultures and eras.  New community singers welcome to join.  For membership information and upcoming concerts, visit www.vivalamusica.org.
