The Planning Commission of the City of Foster City held a Study Session on April 3, 2014 to review and discuss the site and architectural plans associated with the specific development plan/use permit for 200 residential condominiums in 14 buildings, the for-sale component of the Foster Square project.

The Planning Commission of the City of Foster City held a Study Session on May 1, 2014 to review and discuss the site and architectural plans associated with the specific development plan/use permit for a 155-unit assisted and independent living development with approximately 20,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space in a 6-story building.

The Planning Commission of the City of Foster City held a Study Session on May 15, 2014 to review and discuss  the site and architectural plans associated with the specific development plan/use permit for 200 residential condominiums in 14 buildings, the for-sale component of the Foster Square project.

The Planning Commission of the City of Foster City held a Public Hearing on June 5, 2014 to discuss the Use Permit/specific development plan request to consider the site and architectural plans for the assisted and independent living component of the Foster Square project on 1.4 acres of the 15-acre Foster Square site. The plan includes 155 assisted and independent living units and approximately 20,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space in a 6-story building — portion of APN: 094-471-100 — Atria Senior Living — EA-12-002B; UP-14-003

The Planning Commission held a Public Hearing on June 19, 2014  to discuss the use permit/specific Development plan request to consider the public realm plans, including landscaping, streetscape, lighting, and circulation plans, for the 15-Acre Foster Square Project site, UP-14-005 and the use permit/specific development plan request to consider the site and architectural plans for the for-sale unit component of the Foster Square project on approximately 5 net acres of the 15-Acre Foster Square site.

The City Council of the City of Foster City held a preliminary review at the May 7, 2018 Public Hearing to discuss, and provide feedback, regarding the conceptual site plan submitted for a Use permit/Specific Development Plan request to replace the existing 120,338 square-foot building with a new approximately 153,452 square-foot warehouse elevated above ground-level parking, and add a new gas station, at 1001 Metro Center Boulevard — APN: 094-526-100 — UP2018-0010, EA2018-0001 and RZ2018-0002.

The Planning Commission of the City of Foster City held a Public Hearing on June 21, 2018 to discuss the project and provide direction regarding the general acceptability of the project concept and site plan — APN: 094-526-100 — UP2018-0010, EA2018-0001 and RZ2018-0002.

The Planning Commission of the City of Foster City held a Public Hearing on July 19, 2018 to identify topics appropriate for review under the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and analysis in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) related to the redevelopment of the Costco site located at 1001 Metro Center Boulevard (EA2018-0001).

On March 18th, 2020 the City Council of Foster City passed a resolution (2020-24) amending Resolution 2000-124 which establishes preferences for selection of tenants of City and agency subsidized affordable housing units as follows below:

1a.  Persons who are living in a Below Market Rate deed restricted unit in Foster City for a minimum of twelve (12) months that is subject to termination of affordability restrictions within three (3) years;

1b.  Persons who live and work in Foster City;

  2.  Persons who live in Foster City;

Supportive housing is affordable rental housing that provides services to help residents maintain their housing and gain maximum independence.  For some supportive housing options, you may need to sign up on a waiting list.  Ask the provider if they have any open waiting lists at their existing properties, or if they are building any new projects that will be accepting applications in the future.  Also ask about joining their "keep informed" list for future projects.
