Rental Housing Assistance Task Force

Rental Contract

The SAMCAR Board of Directors created the Rental Housing Assistance Task Force to help tenants who have been displaced or experienced significant rent increases since the passage of AB 1482.

The task force will:

  1. Help to find replacement rental housing for tenants experiencing displacement during the Fall and Winter of 2019, subsequent to the passage of AB 1482.  By contacting local housing providers who have vacant units for rent, our members and staff have been successful in placing several tenants in new, comparable housing, close to where they previously lived.
  2. Cover the rental increase in excess of 9% from the date of the passage of the bill, September 11, 2019 to January 1, 2020, when the roll-back in rent to 5% + CPI takes effect.

To receive assistance or for more information, contact the San Mateo County Association of REALTORS® and ask for Alane Gilbrech, Executive Officer , or Gina Zari, Government Affairs Director at (650) 696-8200.
