A Winning Team - January 13, 2016
Over the last few months, I have had the opportunity to meet with the City staff, several members of our police and fire departments, Mayor Perez, and the other Councilmembers, and we are all looking forward to an exciting year. We are ready to face the challenges of 2016. We are fortunate to have such a talented group of people working for the residents and for the benefit of Foster City. I have met many residents of Foster City, and every person wants what is best for our jewel of the peninsula.
As we discuss the future vision for Foster City, I pledge to be your voice. One of the tenets of my tenure on the City Council is communication. I encourage every resident to provide feedback and comments regarding any issue of concern. The City has instituted several methods of information exchange for residents, including questionnaires designed to provide us with relevant insight to your concerns. I encourage you to voice your concerns. With your input, we can create a vision for Foster City that encompasses diverse interests and keeps our City a vibrant part of the Bay Area.
Some of the issues we will be tackling include the Economic Development Plan, the Climate Action Plan, improving our levees and wastewater treatment plant, and, of course, issues that an increasing population will bring. We will need to work regionally for solutions to some of these issues. To be successful, we will need to foster relationships with other cities and agencies to make sure that Foster City's needs are considered. I will work to make that happen.
Foster City's proud past has led us to a promising future. It's time to look forward, but learn from the past. I am confident that we will be able to work together to create an even better City for all of us to enjoy. After all, we have a winning team. You can reach me at cmahanpour@fostercity.org.
