Grab your helmet and riding gear and race to the Foster City Community Bike Ride and Rodeo! The annual, free event is taking a new shape this year, in collaboration with the Foster City Police Department to feature a bike rodeo – a class for beginners that will help them become better riders.

The fun will all take place on Sunday, September 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning in Boothbay Park. Registration for the Community Bike Ride will begin at 9 a.m., followed by complimentary bike and tire checks performed by Sports Basement, between 9 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Riders will then depart from Boothbay Park on the Community Bike Ride at 10:15 a.m. out to the beautiful new path along the Foster City Levee, before returning to Boothbay Park. Riders will have the option of completing a short, five-mile ride, or longer, 10-mile ride. Snacks and water will be available at the halfway point of the ride, and at the finish.

Then the bike rodeo will commence at 10:30 a.m. The class, led by members of the Foster City Police Department, is intended to teach younger children between ages four and seven the importance of bike safety and help them avoid typical crashes. But all community members are welcome to this free event.

Children under the age of 18 are required to wear a helmet at the event, but all participants are strongly encouraged to wear a helmet.  Advance registration for the event is not required.
