Shoreway Environmental Center's Recycling Facility Re-Opens Following September Fire

Shoreway Environmental Center's Recycling Facility was re-opened on January 10, 2017, after a 4-alarm fire closed the facility on September 7, 2016. The fire caused significant damage to equipment and the building structure. Thankfully, no facility workers were injured.

Recycling Facility repairs were completed ahead of schedule and the 35 facility workers who had been furloughed are now back to work. During the shut-down for repairs, all recyclable materials were processed at nearby recycling facilities and no recycling materials were landfilled.
