Free E-Waste Drop-Off and Community Shred Event in Foster City

RethinkWaste.org is teaming up with the City of Foster City to hold a Free Drop-Off Electronic Collection and Community Shred Event for Foster City residents on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the City Hall parking lot: 610 Foster City Boulevard, Foster City. 

Community Shred: Consumer fraud and identity theft are becoming an epidemic in our communities. To raise awareness and to promote prevention, Community Shred events give Foster City residents the opportunity to have their confidential documents destroyed on site, free of charge, whether it is small business documents you no longer need or personal papers you want to safely dispose of. Note: This event is open to Foster City residents only. There is a limit of 3 boxes per household. 

E-Waste Drop-Off: It is illegal to dispose of electronics in the trash. Do the right thing–recycle your personal or business electronics and computer equipment for FREE. See item list below.

Acceptable Items 

Camcorders, Cell Phones, Chips and Components, Computers, Computer Monitors, Connectors/Cables, DVD Players, Fax Machines, Keyboards, Lab Equipment, Fluorescent Tubes/Lamps (limit 5 tubes per residence), Laptops, Main Frames, Computer Mice, Optical Drives, PC Boards, PDA's, Printed Circuit Boards, Printers, Radios, Scanners, Servers, Stereos, Storage Discs, Tape and Zip Drives, Televisions, UPS Power Supply Units and VCRs

Unacceptable Items

Household Appliances (Fans, Floor Heaters, Smoke Detectors, Vacuum Cleaners, etc.), Kitchen Appliances and Large Appliances (Cooktops, Dishwashers, Microwaves, Ovens, Stoves, Refrigerators/Freezers), Household Hazardous Waste (Motor oil, Oil filters, Antifreeze, Automotive batteries, Latex paint, Fluorescent lamps (including compact fluorescents), Household batteries)
