Everyone is impacted by the high cost of housing in some way. Spending a lot of time commuting to work and back? Having a hard time hiring and retaining employees? Are friends and family leaving the area for cheaper housing options? Be informed and get involved in strategies for lasting solutions. All community members are invited to participate in the second session, "Workforce Housing," of the Community Dialogue Series in Foster City to be held on August 9, 2017 at the Crowne Plaza from 7pm to 8:30pm.

"Our goal with the CommUNITY Dialogue Series is to approach these critical topics with a wide, diverse set of perspectives from throughout our community," said Charlie Bronitsky, Mayor of Foster City. "To do this, we're creating an environment to educate our community on important challenges facing our City and encouraging open, honest discussion about innovative solutions to bring about lasting change. When people can sit down together, find common ground, and offer respect for others' opinions in this kind of setting, we can collaborate on great possibilities. That's what our CommUNITY Dialogue Series is all about."

Session 1 was entitled Celebrating the Evolution of Our City, and helped provide the foundation for discussions taking place that evening as well as at subsequent sessions. Session 2 is entitled Workforce Housing and builds on the program by informing, engaging and involving the community in dialogue with a panel of industry experts centered on workforce housing. This session is co-sponsored by Urban Land Institute and the City of the Foster City.
