Water Wise Gardening with Beautiful California Natives

Learn how to reduce your outdoor water use and save money on your water bill just in time for spring planting at the next “Go Green” Speakers Series event hosted by the City of Foster City and the Environmental Sustainability Task Force.
The presentation “Water Wise Gardening with Beautiful California Natives” will take place on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Foster City Council Chambers, 620 Foster City Boulevard. There will be a reception with light refreshments at 6:30 PM, and the program begins at 7 PM. The event is free, and reservations are suggested. Speaker Deva Luna of Earth Care Landscaping will explain the benefits of water wise gardens through comparisons of traditional and native gardens in terms of actual water use, yard waste generated and time spent. Attendees will get practical information about the native and Mediterranean plants that grow well in the Foster City area, as well as see visuals of plants and irrigation methods that you can use to change your yard from water and labor intensive to water wise and low maintenance.
This event is hosted by Foster City’s Environmental Sustainability Task Force. The task force is dedicated to helping the Foster City community to live in an environmentally sustainable way.
