The Foster City Police Department continues to investigate the homicide reported on Friday, December 16. The victim has been identified as 71 year-old Klaus Gachter. The Police Department is not releasing details of this crime at this time so as not to jeopardize its investigation and ultimate prosecution of the person or persons responsible for this heinous act. The investigators have not narrowed their focus on any specific person or persons of interest.
Though the Police Department continues to believe this is not a random act of violence, it is an appropriate time to remind residents to employ crime prevention and personal safety strategies, such as locking doors and windows. Additionally, suspicious people or circumstances should be reported immediately to 911.
