School Capacity in Foster City
Due to actual and projected increases in enrollment of elementary school-age children, the San Mateo-Foster City School District has been exploring alternatives for providing classrooms, auxiliary space and infrastructure for the additional students.  The City is committed to working with the District to identify the best solution for Foster City residents.  Those subscribed to this list will receive updates from the City on this important issue.

The City Council meets twice a month on the first and third Monday nights at 7:30 PM.  The meeting agenda and reports for the meeting are generally posted on the City's Internet by the Wednesday prior to the meeting.  Subscribers to this list are sent a link to the Council Meeting agenda for all regular meetings and special meetings.

City-owned 15-Acre Parcel Adjacent to City Hall
The City owns 15 Acres between Foster City Boulevard and Shell Boulevard south of City Hall.  At this time the City Council is considering how to best use the property to benefit Foster City.  Those subscribing to this list will receive periodic updates when meetings are scheduled, input is sought or decisions are made on the subject property.

Pilgrim-Triton Master Plan
The Planning Commission and City Council will be reviewing General Plan Amendment (GP-06-001) and Rezoning applications (RZ-06-002) to change the General Plan Designation from Service Commercial to a mix of Service Commercial with Housing and the Zoning designation from CM/PD (Commercial Mix/Planned Development) to CM/PD with a General Development Plan to allow mixed commercial, industrial, and residential uses on 20.75 gross acres. The proposal includes up to 296,000 sq. ft. of commercial, and office space, an approximately one acre park, and up to 730 units of housing. The 730 residential units incorporate up to 64 live-work units.

Gilead Sciences Project
The property owner proposes to amend the Vintage Park General Development Plan to increase the allowed square footage for a proposed 17-building campus on 40 acres within the Vintage Park Business Park from 629,154 sq. Ft. To 1,200,000 sq. Ft. – 300-368 Lakeside Drive

Charter Square
Westlake Development Partners, the long-time owners of the Charter Square Shopping Center are proposing to raze the existing ±60,000 square foot neighborhood retail center and replace it with a new differently configured ±60,000 square foot neighborhood retail center. Housing Element Update
The City of Foster City is in the process of updating the Housing Element of the Foster City General Plan. The Housing Element identifies and addresses housing needs in the City. State law requires that the Housing Element be updated to be responsive to changing conditions, new State law requirements and updated regional "fair share" Housing Needs Determinations. The current Housing Element was adopted in December 2001
