Foster City, CA: December 6, 2023 – The City of Foster City is inviting residents to participate in a Community Garden Survey, to determine the community’s interest in developing a community garden in the City. A community garden would allow for volunteers to grow and harvest fresh produce, while helping create an enhanced green space and increase a sense of community. The survey is available at Community Garden Survey (office.com)

“Having a collaborative project such as a community garden would not only be a healthy addition to Foster City, but would also create environmental benefits,” said Derek Schweigart, Parks and Recreation Director. “A community garden would help establish a place for residents to gather and get to know their neighbors, while promoting sustainable agriculture.”

Whether you have an interest in gardening or would enjoy having a community garden in your neighborhood, your feedback is important to the City. Community members have from now until Friday, December 29 to submit their answers. All survey responses are anonymous; however, you can include your name, email, and phone number if you’re interested in receiving more information about the community garden project.
