Make a difference on a vital project in Foster City! The City of Foster City is currently accepting applications to fill three positions (two resident and one business representative position) for 3-year terms on the Levee Bond Oversight Committee. Interested applicants are invited to submit applications by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Applicants are asked to attend the City Council meeting on Monday, September 18, 2023 for interview and consideration of official appointment.

In 2018, Foster City voters passed Measure P, which authorizes the City to issue a $90 million general obligation (GO) bond to improve and strengthen the Foster City levee system. Levee improvements will allow Foster City to maintain FEMA accreditation and protect essential City services during storms or earthquake damage. The Levee Bond Oversight Committee meets quarterly and reviews and reports on the proper expenditures of bond revenues from Measure P. Each year, the Committee submits two written reports to the City Council summarizing the Committee’s activities and stating whether the expenditures comply with Measure P’s requirements.
