Foster City Police Department Recruit Officers Excel in Graduating from Police Academy

The City of Foster City is proud to celebrate the achievement of Foster City Police Department Recruit Officers Ana Correa, Eric Cromosini, Ethan Koval, and Louis Medina in their graduation from the South Bay Regional Police Academy at the College of San Mateo on Friday, June 29. Throughout the Academy, the four Recruit Officers represented the Foster City Police Department with professionalism and integrity and received high praise from Academy staff.

Additionally, two Recruit Officers earned the following awards during the graduation ceremony:

  • Recruit Officer Ethan Koval received the Practical Achievement Award, which recognizes a recruit’s outstanding work in the more hands-on aspects of the training, such as firearms training, driving, and defensive tactics.
  • Recruit Officer Louis Medina received the Top Academic Award, which recognizes a recruit’s outstanding academic work throughout the program.
  • Recruit Officer Louis Medina also received the Overall Achievement Award, which recognizes outstanding overall work, incorporating practical and academic work with additional recognition from Academy staff for a recruit’s excellence in areas such as displayed ethics and leadership.

“We are extremely proud of the effort and commitment displayed by our Recruit Officers during the Academy program,” said Police Chief Tracy Avelar. “They bonded as a team and worked through the program together, demonstrating the ethics, high-level performance, and comradery we strive to bring to our City. The future of the Foster City Police Department is bright.”
