As of Monday evening, crews have completed the repair work necessary to fix the break in the water line that took place along E. Third Avenue in Foster City. As a result, service is restored to normal, water reserve levels will be replenished, irrigation practices can be reintroduced, and there will be no overnight water shutoff necessary.

“We are immensely proud of the dedicated and talented crews who have worked so diligently since Sunday morning to assess and repair this water line break – we owe all involved a deep debt of gratitude” said City Manager Stefan Chatwin. “And thank you to the Foster City community for making an effort to limit water use during this brief but critical period. We understand it was an inconvenience for many, but the willingness to sacrifice individual comfort for the benefit of everyone is just another reason Foster City is such a special community.”

The City Council will have an opportunity at a future meeting to ratify the proclamation of local emergency that will make the City potentially eligible to receive governmental aid for the emergency response.
