The Foster City Community Bike Ride and Scavenger Hunt is back and better than ever before! The annual event designed to help shrink Foster City’s carbon footprint by encouraging healthy habits will begin Friday, September 16, and continue through Clean Air Day, on Wednesday, October 5.

To participate, riders will bike to various locations throughout the City based on clues posted on the Parks and Recreation website at www.fostercity.org/bikeride. At each location, there will be a letter clue, and when all the letters are found, they can be unscrambled to find the secret final location of the finish line. Participants will then submit the location where each clue was found, plus a picture of the finish line clue. Everyone that submits the correct clue locations and finish line picture will be entered in a raffle to win a grand prize – a brand new electric bike!

The 2022 Community Bike Ride and Scavenger Hunt is hosted by the Foster City Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the San Mateo-Foster City Education Foundation. Participants are encouraged to be sure to share their photos on Instagram and Facebook by tagging @cleanairday, @fcrecreation, and @smfcef. Also celebrate Clean Air Day by taking the Clean Air Pledge and committing to improving the local air quality. Take the pledge at https://www.cleanairday.org/pledge/individual/fostercity/.

“We are thrilled to be bringing back this awesome event that offers a great opportunity for community members to win an amazing prize by promoting exercise and kindness to the environment,” said Parks and Recreation Director Derek Schweigart. “We hope to see everyone participating and exploring our beautiful community for a good cause.”
