Traffic Review Committee

The City of Foster City is currently accepting applications for one, full, three-year term on the Traffic Review Committee. Applicants are encouraged to sign up for a Netfile account and apply at https://netfile.com/bac/public/#/FOS/

Those interested in applying should review the City’s committee attendance policy, which prohibits committee members from missing three consecutive meetings or five meetings per 12-month period. Additionally, those ultimately selected to join a committee will be expected to complete mandatory ethics training within 30 days of their appointment.  

Community members are invited to submit applications by 5 p.m. on October 23, 2025. Applicants are required to attend the November 17, 2025, City Council meeting for an interview and consideration of official appointment. If an applicant can not submit using Netfile, applications can be submitted in person at City Hall, 610 Foster City Blvd., or via email to clerk@fostercity.org. Please note that incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Mission Statement:

The Foster City Traffic Review Committee receives and reviews appeals or requests from citizens or staff regarding traffic matters and makes recommendations to the City Council. The Committee meets at the call of the Chairman at such time and place as may be appropriate in order to receive and hear as much information as possible pertaining to the matters to be discussed.

Membership:

The Committee consists of the following members:

Public Works Director (or his designated representative)
Chief of Police (or her designated representative)
Fire Chief (or his designated representative)
A Member of the Planning Commission
City Traffic Engineer or City Engineer
Community Development Director
A Resident of the City Appointed by the City Council


*Note: Members serve without compensation.

Qualifications for All City/District Committees:

All persons interested in serving on any committee shall submit to the City Clerk/District Secretary, a written request for appointment containing such information on their background and qualifications as they deem appropriate. Members of all committees shall be residents of the City of Foster City/Estero Municipal Improvement District.

Meeting Dates and Time:

The last Thursday of each month at 1:00 pm. If the last Thursday of the month falls on a holiday, the meeting will occur on the next soonest Thursday of the month.
