Street Improvement Work to Begin in Foster City

Starting Wednesday, July 26, the City’s contractor VSS Incorporated will begin slurry treatment to repair Foster City’s streets. Barring any weather-related delays, slurry work is expected to be completed by Friday, August 4.  Following the slurry work, the project areas will be cleaned and restriped.

The street rehabilitation project consists of various pavement treatments. Grinding and overlay work, ADA ramp replacements, and crack sealing have been completed. Slurry seal is planned on the following streets:

Neighborhood No. 1:

  • Pilgrim Dr. from N. Harvester Dr. to S. Harvester Dr.
  • Niantic Dr. from Balclutha Dr. to Polynesia Dr.
  • Polynesia Dr. from Foster City Blvd. to Lurline Dr.
  • Lurline Dr. from Comet Dr.to the end of the cul-de-sac.
  • Constitution Dr. from Chrysopolis Dr. to Comet Dr.
  • Chrysopolis Dr. from Polynesia Dr. to Constitution Dr.
  • Comet Dr. from Pilgrim Dr. to Lurline Dr.
  • Balclutha Dr from Foster City Blvd. to Matsonia Dr.

Neighborhood No. 9:

  • Argus Ct.
  • Arcturus Ct.
  • Polaris Ave. from Altair Ave. to Beach Park Blvd.

Shell Blvd.:

  • From the approach of the Shell Bridge to Beach Park Blvd.

Work will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.  During construction, lanes may be temporarily closed, and on-street parking prohibited during the day of work. Access to driveways may also be restricted. Please follow posted signs and traffic control measures for safe travel through construction zones.

By repairing streets proactively on an annual basis, the roadways in Foster City consistently rank among the best maintained roadways in the Bay Area, which contributes to the high quality of life locally. The City appreciates everyone’s patience and cooperation with inconveniences caused by construction activities.
