The City of Foster City will host its second hybrid Resilient & Sustainable Foster City Community Workshop on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Foster City Recreation Center, 650 Shell Blvd, Foster City and via Zoom. This will be the second community workshop focused on raising awareness of the Climate Action Planning process and asks community members to envision a sustainable, resilient, and equitable Foster City. Registration is required at https://tinyurl.com/yckvepxs.

The Second Resilient & Sustainable Foster City Community Workshop is a hybrid, interactive event, allowing community members to attend in person or online via Zoom. Building on the first Workshop hosted in January, this second Workshop allows community members to collaborate with friends and neighbors by giving feedback on proposed Climate Action Plan strategies and actions and get involved in the Climate Action Planning process. For more information about this event, please visit https://www.fostercity.org/community/page/resilient-sustainable-foster-city-community-workshop-2.

Foster City is updating its Climate Action Plan (CAP), first adopted in 2016, and seeks whole community input and participation in its process and development. The CAP is Foster City’s plan to reduce its contribution to climate change while addressing the current and future impacts climate change has on Foster City. The City has already taken steps to be a leader in sustainability through some of its initiatives, such as adding solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations to the Library/Community Center Parking Lot, installing low-flow faucets and lower energy lights in our facilities, transitioning to low-water-usage landscapes in our parks, and adopting the most current Green Building standards for new construction and remodels, to name a few.

For any questions or more information on the second Resilient & Sustainable Foster City Community Workshop, please contact the City Manager’s Office at (650) 286-3220 or manager@fostercity.org.
