Residents and community groups can help keep the 24 beautiful parks across Foster City clean and inviting by renting a free cleanup kit from the Parks and Recreation Department. Each kit comes with all the equipment needed to pick up litter in a safe and sanitary fashion, including a 5-gallon bucket, two safety vests, two trash grabbers, plastic bags, and gloves.

Participating in a park clean-up is a great way for a resident or small group to give back to their community, or for a larger organization to make a big difference in improving the local quality of life. Kits are available to reserve at: https://www.fostercity.org/parksrec/page/park-cleanup-kits.  Reservation requests should be submitted at least 5 business days in advance of the cleanup date. Those hosting cleanups on weekends will need to pick up equipment from the Foster City Recreation Center between Monday and Friday during regular business hours from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. For cleanup groups larger than 24 people, additional permits may be required.

“We are excited to start offering this fun and creative way for the Foster City community to help beautify our parks,” said Parks and Recreation Director Derek Schweigart. “Please consider registering for a cleanup kit, and let’s work together ensure our open spaces stay safe, attractive and inviting.”
