Join the Foster City City Council and Planning Commission to discuss housing in Foster City at the Joint Special Meeting on March 24, 2021 at 6:30p.m. The first half of the meeting, from 6:30-7:30p.m., will feature a panel of experts who will share information and answer questions on topics such as water supply, transportation, state housing legislation, and Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA Cycle 6). The second half of the meeting will be focused on the 2021 work plan where staff will provide an overview of current Housing Element Implementation programs, such as the Affordable Housing Overlay Zone (AHOZ), Rezoning of AHOZ sites, Multi-Family Objective Design Standards, and Inclusionary Ordinance.

Community members are invited to participate in the conversation at the Joint Special Meeting to learn more about the future of housing in Foster City. The panel discussion is part of the ‘Home is Foster City’ initiative launched last year to engage the community in a dialogue on the topic of housing in Foster City. Questions for the panelists can be submitted ahead of time to homeisfc@fostercity.org by 5:00p.m. on March 23, 2021.

“We’re excited to continue the dialogue on housing in Foster City,” said Community Development Director Marlene Subhashini. “There are several upcoming housing initiatives and engaging our community in these conversations is one of our top priorities. We hope to not only share information but also answer questions from our residents. We welcome all perspectives and are here to listen.”
