Residents wanting to make Foster City a better place to live, work, and play are invited to volunteer for a community service project for National Make a Difference Day. On Saturday, October 23, Foster City will join the national movement to celebrate volunteerism, selflessness, and community by coming together and performing acts of kindness.

Approved community service projects have been compiled on the City website at: www.fostercity.org/makeadifference. Those interested in volunteering are invited to go to the page and pick a project which they would like to help with. The deadline for organizing has passed, so community members wishing to participate in National Make a Difference Day should consider volunteering for a previously approved project. Once volunteers have been identified, organizers will be solely responsible for managing and completing the project.

National Make a Difference Day is intended to encourage people to give back to their community. And there is no better way to celebrate Foster City’s 50th Anniversary than finding a thoughtful way to improve the local quality of life. So, pick a project and lend a helping hand on National Make a Difference Day, and let’s work together toward making sure the next 50 years are as great as the last 50 years have been.
