City Manager Peter Pirnejad has announced restructuring changes to the City of Foster City’s Executive Leadership Team as the City continues to face pressure by the pandemic, the uncertain financial future, and the continuation of the Levee Improvements Project, the single largest CIP project in the history of Foster City.  In order to focus on agility, rapid response, and progressive governance, City Manager Pirnejad initiated the consolidation of the departments of Public Works and Parks & Recreation. This change will create efficiencies and operational agility.

Effective immediately, Assistant City Manager Dante Hall will oversee the new combined department in an acting capacity and will be tasked with implementing the consolidation through the fiscal year.  Former Parks & Recreation Director Jennifer Liu and Public Works Director Norman Dorais were informed of City Manager Pirnejad’s decision and their last day with the organization was Friday, January 8, 2021.

City Manager Pirnejad stated, “I am appreciative of and want to recognize the contributions of Norm and Jennifer during their tenure with the City of Foster City.  Going forward, our highest priority will be to unify these two teams and to create efficiencies that improve service to our community.”
