Make a difference in Foster City on a vital project! The City of Foster City is currently accepting applications to fill two positions for a full three-year term on the Levee Bond Oversight Committee. One of the positions is designated for a Foster City resident, and the other is for an authorized representative of a Foster City business.

Interested applicants are invited to submit applications by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022. Applicants are asked to attend the City Council meeting on Monday, September 19, 2022 for consideration of official appointment.

In 2018, Foster City voters passed Measure P, which authorizes the City to issue a $90 million general obligation (GO) bond to improve and strengthen the Foster City levee system. Levee improvements will allow Foster City to maintain FEMA accreditation and protect essential City services during storms or earthquake damage. The Levee Bond Oversight Committee will review and report on the proper expenditures of bond revenues from Measure P. Each year, the Committee will submit two written reports to the City Council summarizing the Committee’s activities and stating whether the expenditures comply with Measure P’s requirements.
