The Foster City Post Office is open! Join the United States Postal Service (USPS), Congresswoman Jackie Speier, Foster City’s elected officials, the Foster City Chamber of Commerce, and City staff at a ribbon cutting celebration event on Friday, March 1st, 2019 at 9am in front of its new location (750 Alma Lane, Suite 100, Foster City, CA 94404). The event is open to all members of the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Foster City Post Office has been a vital amenity in Foster City, enjoying the loyal patronage of its residents for many years. “A Post Office has long been the cornerstone and identity of every community since our founding 242 years ago. We remain committed now, as then, to bind the country and communities together through the mail that runs through it and delivery to the more than 150 million addresses across the country,” said USPS District Manager Noemi Luna.

In January 2018, the USPS had closed its former location at the Charter Square Shopping Center site in Foster City in anticipation of construction for a new elementary school on the same site. Over the next several months, the Office of Congresswoman Jackie Speier and City staff worked diligently with the USPS in its relocation efforts. The newly-opened 3,800 square foot office in Foster City, now in a central and convenient location by City Hall, officially opened for business on December 15, 2018. It includes several modern design standards and ample space for customer service counters and post office boxes.

The Foster City community has regained a local asset valued by all its customers, residents and businesses alike. As Congresswoman Jackie Speier states, “After more than a year without a post office, Foster City residents can finally rely on the crucial services USPS provides again. I thank the City of Foster City and the Postal Service for their perseverance and patience to see this process through to its conclusion. I am thrilled the doors are now open and look forward to celebrating at the ribbon cutting on March 1.”

The regular hours for the Foster City Post Office are as follows:

Monday-Friday – 8:30 am-5:00 pm
Saturday – 9:00 am-2:00 pm
Sunday – CLOSED

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
