Foster City to Host City Finances 101 Community Workshop on April 24, 2018

On April 24, 2018 at 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm in the Emergency Operations Center, located at 1040 E. Hillsdale Blvd,  community members are invited to attend an educational workshop to gain an overview of municipal finance from the City’s Finance Department. This is a valuable opportunity to become familiar with the budget and the budget process and learn about revenue and expenditures in major funds.


This informative workshop will also give the community more information about:

  • Government Accounting (Fund Accounting)
  • What financial goals and policies guide budget decisions
  • Where City revenue comes from
  • Where City revenue goes
  • Financial Reporting and Auditing
