A traditional Fourth of July celebration is returning to Foster City with a bang! After two years of honoring our nation’s Independence Day in a more subtle fashion due to the pandemic, Foster City is again planning this year to host a full slate of in-person events – including a fireworks show – on Monday, July 4.

The fun will kick off with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Foster City Rotary Club at 9 a.m. in the meadow at Leo Ryan Park. Vendors will open afterward in Leo Ryan Park at 10 a.m., followed by the Kids Play Zone at 11 a.m. The Family and Dog Parade will begin moving through the Park from the Vibe Teen Center to the Amphitheater on the Lagoon at 11:05 a.m., where the event will officially kick off with an Opening Ceremony, a welcome from the Lions Club, and the performance of the National Anthem.

A family musical performance by Andy Z will begin at noon, and family activities such as potato sack races and three-legged races be open in Leo Ryan Park from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Food trucks will be operating from 11 a.m. throughout the day along Shell Boulevard, near the vendors and play zone. From 4:15 to 5:45 p.m., Red Vinyl will play tunes to dance to in the Amphitheater, followed by a rocking performance from the Top Shelf Classics band from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. The music will give way to another performance of the National Anthem at 9:25 p.m., followed by the beloved fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. over the Lagoon.

“Foster City is excited to once again offer this cherished community event,” said Parks and Recreation Director Derek Schweigart. “We look forward to seeing our friends, families, and neighbors together again as we celebrate our nation’s Independence Day.”
