Foster City Announces Budget Schedule

For Immediate Release: February 10, 2021
Contact: Edmund Suen, Finance Director, (650) 286-3265, esuen@fostercity.org

The City’s budget is one of the City Council's most important policy documents and a key tool to promote public transparency and accountability. The budget allocates funding for projects and services and the allocation of funding determines the level of service that will be provided to the community in any given year.

Although the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 budget (July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022) is not scheduled to be adopted by the City Council until June 2021, the extensive fiscal planning process has already begun. The City Council will be holding a series of public budget meetings to discuss various aspects of the budget, which enables the City to provide its programs and services. The City Council and City staff welcome and value insights and input from the public and community members are encouraged to attend and gain a greater understanding of the City's finances.

During the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to Executive Order N2920, all meetings will be held via teleconference/video conference only. The public may participate by Zoom. Meetings will also be televised on FCTV (www.fostercity.org/FCTV), Comcast Channel 27, and AT&T Channel 99 and will also be available on demand after the meeting has concluded.

For more information about the upcoming budget sessions, contact Finance Director Edmund Suen at (650) 286-3265 or esuen@fostercity.org. Information about City programs and services can be found on the City's website at www.fostercity.org.
