EVgo Charging Station in Parking LotThe City of Foster City continues to show its commitment to environmental stewardship by unveiling four new EVgo electric vehicle (EV) fast charging stations available to the public at the shared Library/Police/Community Center parking Lot, located at 1000 E Hillsdale Blvd, Foster City. Join Mayor Sam Hindi and other City officials and representatives from EVgo at a ribbon-cutting event scheduled for June 25, 2019 at 11am at the Parking Lot in front of the chargers.

The chargers are open to the public and owned and operated by EVgo (www.evgo.com), the owner of the largest public fast charging network for electric vehicles in the nation. EVgo offers both a pay-as-you-go per-minute rate as well as a monthly membership plan which delivers EV drivers a lower cost per minute charging price. “The new high-powered chargers demonstrate Foster City as an environmental and technological leader," said Mayor Sam Hindi. “We hope Foster City residents, employees, and commuters will utilize them, but that residents in surrounding communities will take advantage of these state-of-the-art charging stations as well. The City will continue to look for other opportunities to build its Electric Vehicle Infrastructure.”

“EVgo is proud to deliver reliable and convenient fast charging to the residents of Foster City at the Library Parking Lot,” said Julie Blunden, Executive Vice President of Business Development at EVgo. “We look forward to continuing EVgo’s partnership with Foster City to help ensure that all residents of Foster City can access the economic, environmental, and health benefits that stem from accelerated EV adoption.”

EVgo's high power chargers are on the cutting edge of fast EV charging, able to charge up an electric vehicle in 20 minutes to an hour, depending on a vehicle’s battery size and charge rate. The chargers feature CCS Combo and CHAdeMO connectors. Tesla owners will require an adapter in order to use EVgo’s fast chargers.
