Deceased Man Pulled from Bay

On August, 9, 2018, at 9:37 a.m. the Foster City Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a person floating in the bay waters. An extensive search of the bay waters around the San Mateo Bridge was conducted by responding police officers and firefighters. The person was located in the water and south of the San Mateo Bridge. Using rescue equipment, members of the Foster City Fire Department were able to pull an unknown man from the waters and onto the levee where he was examined and determined to be deceased. 

At this time, the man’s identity is unknown and the investigation is in its preliminary stages. Foster City Police Department detectives will investigate to determine the man’s identity and the circumstances surrounding his death. The investigation will be conducted in conjunction with the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office.
